Oh, the sweetness; oh, the joy. If you’ve ever experienced the sweet-smelling aroma of honeysuckle, you’ll know what I’m talking about….

The other day while gardening, I found myself feeling so very blessed. As I looked around, I inhaled the fresh air and soft scent of honeysuckle. The cheerful sunshine permeated my pores and warmed me all the way to my heart and soul. Birds chirped, butterflies danced all around the trees, and the blessings of nature simply overwhelmed me.

As I thought of how sweet honeysuckle’s fragrance is, I reflected on God, how sweet His spirit is, and how some of His followers wear His perfume – and others have an odor that is just plumb sour!

“Lord, I don’t want to have an unpleasant odor,” I prayed. “I want to always display your sweetness.”

You know, it’s easy to become bitter and hard as life’s trials, worries, and stresses beat us down. But if we’ll just cast our cares on Jesus and let Him carry our burdens, we’ll be carefree, we’ll have joy in our hearts, and we’ll exhibit His sweet fragrance.

That’s what I truly strive for – to exhibit His sweet fragrance in my life.

2 Corinthians 2: 14-17

14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
